The Humble Museum was founded in 1976 as the Humble Bicentennial Museum, as part of the city's United States Bicentennial Celebrations. On the west side of the railroad tracks, on Higgins Street, the city constructed a museum building. This museum is dedicated to preserving Humble's and Lake Houston's history.
